Town staff notified the Selectboard of a formatting error in the town meeting warning where a $1,600 transfer to the capital improvement reserve was omitted from page 18; staff emphasized the numbers behind the report are correct and that the omission was a formatting issue when moving from Excel to Word. The board agreed staff would print corrected pages and provide them at town meeting and online. One board member recommended highlighting the corrected line so arriving voters could see it quickly.
Staff also walked through the major capital items making up an increase in the capital improvement reserve: Chelsea Street sidewalk (one-year expense with an $88,000 allocation, of which $38,212 is the increase from prior annual allocations), Fox Stand Bridge (an $82,000 per-year allocation in a three-year plan; the town's estimated cost share was discussed), and the Broad Brook landslide project (an estimated $33,000 town share with FEMA and state covering the remainder). Staff warned that design/engineering costs already spent (about $140,000 for Chelsea Street) would be lost if the project were canceled and described right-of-way outreach and grant-application deadlines. Board members asked for a corrected cheat sheet and for the corrected page to be printed and highlighted for town meeting attendees.
