Town building nearing final work; use-and-occupancy targeted for week of Sept. 7

Project staff reported drainage, gate controller and garage-equipment work are underway; final paperwork and county permit approvals could yield full use-and-occupancy the week of September 7, though some garage equipment activation remains on the critical path.
Project manager Patrick briefed the mayor and council on construction progress at the new town building. He said crews have completed drainage modifications and placed sod along the north side of the building; remaining items include as-built survey submission, gate-controller installation and garage equipment and solar activation, with an anticipated completion and full use-and-occupancy the week of September 7 pending county permit actions.
Patrick noted remaining punch-list items and that bathrooms and office areas currently have temporary occupancy while garage high-bay areas require additional equipment power-up. Town staff clarified that a maglock cylinder and security hardware remain to be installed before full bathroom access is guaranteed. Councilmembers asked about field leveling and restroom availability for fall sports and Cheverly Day logistics; staff said the underdrain installation will take about one week once scheduled and the fence removal will follow that work.
