At 7:08 p.m. on July 8, Village President Robin Reid moved the Village of Spring Green Board of Trustees into closed session under Wisconsin Statutes §19.85(1)(g) "for conferring with legal counsel ... concerning strategy to be adopted by the body with respect to litigation in which it is or is likely to become involved." Trustee Hope Winship seconded the motion; the roll call vote was recorded as aye: Bédard, Winship, Barta, McCarville, Miller and Reid (6–0), with Trustee David Saperstein absent.
The board reconvened at 7:19 p.m. and discussed guidance from the Village Attorney specifically related to abatement of the property at 433 W. Madison Street. The minutes state that guidance was discussed and that no action was taken on abatement at this meeting.
