Members also discussed the safety benefits of the new electric carts' automatic braking system compared with manual brakes on gas carts. The board evaluated a yellow-post-and-gate configuration that prevents fence damage but has caused minor incidents and discussed mitigations such as reinstalling a mirror, widening the gate, or rerouting traffic. To manage demand, the board considered a policy limiting city-provided carts for fivesomes to two carts per group.
