Superintendent Malley opened his report at the July 20 Haslett Board of Education meeting by announcing three resignations and several personnel recommendations that were placed on the consent agenda.
"Erin North, our principal at Raleigh Elementary, has let us know she's resigning to advance her career effective August 7 after 7 years of leadership at Raleigh," Malley said. He also announced that Josh Chris, a physical education teacher at Raleigh, resigned effective July 10 after his first year, and occupational therapist Kelly Youts resigned effective August 17. Malley thanked each for their service.
Malley presented personnel recommendations appearing on the consent agenda: Angela O'Neil for payroll and employee benefits coordinator (contract on the consent agenda); Kendall Essenmacher as a social studies teacher at Hazlett Middle School (from Charlotte Public Schools); December Day as a middle-school science teacher (from the Academy of Precision Learning); Emily Wilson as GSRP lead teacher at Wiltshire Early Childhood Center; and Lindsay Phillips for the social worker position at Rallia Elementary. The superintendent invited the board to join an August 11 breakfast at 8 a.m. to welcome new staff.
The personnel items were included in the consent agenda that the board approved later in the meeting.
