Deputy Chief Bradley Todd sworn in at Basehor ceremony

Basehor’s City Council and staff swore in Bradley Todd as the city’s deputy chief of police during the council meeting.
City Administrator Leslie Riverola introduced Chief Short and invited him to present Todd. Chief Short praised Todd’s professionalism and steady leadership, saying Todd is “thoughtful in his decisions, committed to doing what is right, and is deeply invested in the people he serves.” City Clerk Kathy Wren administered the oath of office; after taking it, Deputy Chief Bradley Todd thanked the mayor, council and his family. “It is truly a privilege to serve this community, and I look forward to working alongside each of you to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents,” Todd said.
Todd said he has worked with Chief Short for 12.5 years and expressed appreciation for the department’s support during the transition. The ceremony included remarks from the council and a brief photo opportunity with Todd’s family.
