Garage Committee urges prompt roof replacement; Selectboard agrees to move forward with bids

Ted Austin, reporting on the June 4 Garage Committee meeting, told the Selectboard the Committee will recommend moving forward with replacement of the highway garage roof as soon as possible and will submit a draft recommendation to the board. Highway Supervisor Allen Wight confirmed the roof leaked after the previous night's rain and said prompt repairs are warranted.
The Selectboard indicated support for initiating the bid process. Town Administrator Nicola Shipman also reported the Highway Garage Committee formally recommends the Selectboard move forward with the bid process for the garage roof replacement. No contract award or funding appropriation was made at the meeting; the Selectboard's action authorizes proceeding to solicit bids and return with a recommendation.
