The VSP representative also said the agency can provide training for local responders, including active‑threat response and bomb‑threat awareness, and is promoting recruiting efforts to bolster staffing. Selectboard members asked about dispatch coordination and staffing vacancies; Sweitzer said staffing looked good for summer but noted lower‑staffed barracks sometimes rely on support from better‑staffed locations.
The Selectboard did not take a formal vote on any police contract at the meeting. The presentation closed with officials encouraging ongoing communication so VSP can better identify local resources and potential points of collaboration.
