Board approves limited exemptions for post-school event food sales

The approved conditions permit sales of nonconforming food and certain beverages if the sale is connected to an event after the regular school day or on the weekend, occurs at the event location, and is not sold from a vending machine or school store. The minutes provide examples of qualifying events such as soccer games, school plays, and interscholastic debates. Billie Jean Sideris moved to approve the exemptions, Susan Wheeler seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
A board member asked whether bake sales during the school day might be affected; the board clarified that bake sales do not take place during the regular school day in the district.
