District certifies participation in Healthy Food Option for 2026–27

The Regional School District No. 20 Board of Education voted on March 26, 2026 to certify participation in the Healthy Food Option under C.G.S. Section 10-215f for the 2026–27 school year.
The certification covers all food items offered for sale to students that are not part of reimbursable school meals and requires compliance with the Connecticut Nutrition Standards from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The board recorded the motion, made by Billie Jean Sideris and seconded by John Morosani, and voted unanimously to approve the certification.
The certification applies to sales from school stores, vending machines, cafeterias, culinary programs, and fundraising activities on school premises unless items are specifically exempted under the statutory text.
