Commissioners reviewed proposed changes to Planning Commission bylaws that clarify the nomination and voting process for chair and vice chair — the chair is nominated first and, if the nominee accepts, the vote occurs; then the vice chair is nominated and voted on. The bylaws discussion included clarifications that alternates are not eligible to serve as chair or vice chair.
Staff also alerted commissioners to upcoming events: the APA conference in Provo (Oct. 10–11, 2024), a Bike Utah/UDOT/SLCoHD conference (Sep. 18–19, 2024), and a Planning Commissioner Dinner on Sep. 5. Vice Chair Robyn Anderson moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:15 p.m.; no one opposed.
The meeting minutes were prepared by Aubrey Ruiz, Community Development Executive Assistant, and will be edited and approved in a subsequent meeting.
