MRAC repairs prioritized; council flagged need for public engagement ahead of RAP tax renewal

Parks, Recreation and Trails Director Patrick Trim told the council the MRAC saw more than 60,000 visits in the last year and that arts participation rose 22 percent. Trim described repair assessments at MRAC and the Moab Arts and Recreation Center (MARC), plans for ballfields, and the new playground, and he urged public engagement ahead of a future vote to renew the Recreation, Arts and Parks (RAP) tax.
Mayor Joette Langianese and other councilmembers stressed outreach to residents about MRAC repairs and the proposed RAP tax renewal. Trim also described scholarships and planned programs for underserved populations. "Participation in arts events was up 22 percent," Trim said when summarizing annual program metrics.
