Several residents used the public-comment period to raise everyday service and quality-of-life concerns. Nick Bassil asked how the city's recycling program will be enforced, where collected materials will be taken and how residents with steep front yards will comply with curbside pickup rules. "Now when we use the recycle bins, where is the recycling that's collected where is it taken to?" he asked.
Other commenters urged better alley cleanup and urged more neighborhood parks and pools. Shaquita Bridal (also a petition applicant later in the meeting) said she wants Roosevelt High School's renovation and repurposing to be prioritized and urged more recreation facilities across neighborhoods. City operations staff later responded in the city report that crews have assumed full trash pickup citywide and that recycling collection had begun this year, and they provided a city service phone number for residents to report issues.
