Councilman Gene Price provided an update on Unionville's Semi quincentennial celebration scheduled for Saturday, June 27 beginning around 6:00 p.m. He said the town had secured $10,000 in sponsorship donations that reduced the Town's financial burden, highlighted a free three-hour concert featuring Chairmen of the Board and a drone show booked for the event, and asked council members and residents to spread the word.
Price also appealed for six additional volunteers to complete Crowd Manager certification to reach the 16 certified crowd managers required for the event; Administrator Melody Braswell offered to distribute the online training link and noted the listed two-hour course is substantially shorter in practice. No formal vote was required for the update; staff and council will continue preparations.
