The North Salt Lake Planning Commission voted to approve a preliminary plat amendment for Silver Sky Lofts, a residential development at 215 East Odell Lane, with the condition that outstanding engineering redlines on the construction drawings be corrected.
Staff member Sherry told the commission the amendment adds roughly 0.75 acre to phase 1 for a total of about 1.75 acres and adds 10 units to bring the project to 23 units. "So they've really fixed everything, but we're recommending approval with just the condition that those, minor, red lines be corrected," Sherry said, summarizing outstanding technical items including the location of an irrigation line.
Commissioner Marsh asked about zoning and phasing; staff responded that the property moved from R‑17 toward RM‑7 and into a P district as part of the development approvals. Sherry said five units are completed and five are under construction in the originally approved phase and that phase 2’s extension of the road removed a hammerhead turnaround and allowed reconfiguration that added guest parking and changed a three‑plex into a four‑plex.
Commissioner Holbrook moved to approve the requested preliminary plat amendment with the condition that any outstanding engineering redlines be corrected; Commissioner Marsh seconded and the motion passed by voice vote. The commission and staff offered brief congratulations to the applicant. The next step is a development‑agreement amendment and final plat processing at the city level, after which final mylar signatures will be recorded and building can proceed under the approved configuration.
