Mayor warns drivers as building and HPPC reports show active summer events planning

Mayor Lance N. Millman called the Board of Trustees to order at 7:25 p.m. and advised residents to take care driving in warm weather because of increased deer and pedestrian activity. "Drivers should be careful while driving in the area," Mayor Millman said.
The Building Department reported 17 building permits filed in the month and $14,400.00 in permit fees collected. Staff also issued 9 Certificates of Occupancy, conducted 11 inspections that generated $3,550.00 in fire inspection fees, and issued 49 code violations during the reporting period.
The Historic Preservation and Parks Commission reported a stronger turnout for a recent Cleanup Day and said it plans a follow‑up event in the fall. HPPC members also updated trustees on planning for the Village’s Jazz Festival scheduled for Aug. 30, 2026. The commission said donations from local businesses are being solicited to help offset costs.
The public comment period produced no speakers and was closed by the mayor.
