Council schedules workshop, called meeting and approves Mayor’s Academy hotel fees; pastor notes passing of longtime resident

Council amended the agenda to hold a July 2026 Workshop on July 14 at 5:30 p.m. and approved a called meeting on June 16 at 5:00 p.m. to review city manager candidates. The motion to amend the agenda (to set the workshop) was moved by W.C. Smith, seconded by Monica Harper and recorded as unanimously approved; the called meeting to review candidates was moved by Melissa Johnson and seconded by W.C. Smith and recorded as approved.
The council also approved Mayor’s Academy training hotel fees (motion by W.C. Smith; second by Melissa Johnson). During the public-comment portion of the meeting Pastor Kelly Anderson noted the death of a former longtime Coolidge citizen; no formal action followed from that comment. The meeting then entered executive session for personnel matters and adjourned after returning to open session.
