Staff reported that the City Council approved preliminary planned-unit development (PUD) plans for Amberly Place on May 6 and that the developer has already submitted the final plat, which staff processed administratively. According to staff, a pre-construction meeting has been held and infrastructure submittals are under review; staff said, if earthwork hasn't started yet, it should begin in the next week or so.
The chair added that the Amberly Place HOA vote to join neighborhood provisions also passed and praised the HOA president’s outreach. The chair said the HOA president "worked really, really hard, like, knocking on doors" to secure the vote and said the result will allow residents there to participate in amenities such as pools. Staff also said a code amendment to reduce the side setback on corner lots to 20 feet — the change commissioners had requested — was approved and incorporated by the City Council.
Staff asked commissioners to contact staff if they have trouble accessing required training content and provided an access code for a USU-hosted training to avoid paying a fee. The commission did not take further action on Amberly Place during this meeting.
