Mountain Green Elementary Principal Martin described ongoing work to strengthen Professional Learning Communities and a multi-tier RTI approach, calling those systems "the foundation of all the other things that we are doing at the school." Martin said the school is seeing rising test scores and that the early-learning coach (salary split across district plans) has been "worth every dime."
Martin also described investments in professional development, targeted enrichment, library resources and instructional technology to support tiers 1โ3. The principal told the board she wants to keep an enrichment instructor for extension opportunities and emphasized teacher collaboration and conference-based training to accelerate improvements in instruction.
