Principal Wilkinson presented Morgan ElementarySchoolTSSA funding priorities, saying most funds will go to personnel to reduce class sizes and to an evidence-based intervention program that provides teacher diagnostics and immediate, targeted instruction. "It's amazing the difference that 5 students can make in a classroom," Wilkinson said, arguing smaller classes let teachers cover more material and tailor interventions.
Wilkinson said the plan includes $3,000 for community engagement (literacy and STEAM nights), curriculum resources and instructional supports. She corrected an item on the packet: the measurable goal is that 85% of students will read at or above grade level by the end of third grade (the school currently reports 82%). The principal described the intervention program as "taking something off of our teacher's plate" so diagnostic results immediately lead to instruction rather than being simply an in-class activity.
