Robert Kilmer, the district’s career and technical education director, updated the board on construction at Shaw High, saying the project has advanced from wall framing to a fully roofed building with floors poured and equipment beginning to arrive.
"We've gone from just working on getting those walls up to now we have a roof on," Kilmer told the board. He said HVAC components are arriving, masons will finish exterior veneer, and crews adjusted heavy-equipment delivery dates to protect newly poured concrete. Kilmer said students will help move the old shop during the final week of the school year to support a quicker transition and allow demolition of the older shop earlier than previously planned.
