High-school shop, third-floor work and middle-school gym replacement move forward, district says

Business administrator Scott McMillan said construction on the high-school shop and the third-floor classroom expansion is progressing: masonry and interior drywall work are underway and contractors are preparing for finishing phases. A secure-entrance vestibule at the counseling center is in the design phase with construction planned for summer.
McMillan said the Morgan Middle School gym replacement, funded by a small-schools capital grant, is finalizing construction documents and that six prequalified contractors will submit bids late in February with demolition of the existing gym planned for mid-March. He said the district is working with the middle school on transition and traffic plans (bus loading at the high school and crosswalks supported by SROs) to keep students safe during construction.
