Staff trainer explains new one-page conflict-of-interest form for board members

District staff introduced a new, condensed conflict-of-interest disclosure form and told members everyone must complete and sign it for posting on the district website. Scott, who led the session, said the form is a new requirement and aims to consolidate disclosures onto a single page.
"It's a new policy. We have to have one of these on our website for each of the conflict of interest forms," Scott said, explaining the form will list an individual’s employer, a spouse's employer, any entity that pays more than $5,000, and any board memberships. He told members to sign and date the form and said the district will post completed forms as required. The presentation included an instruction that even those with no conflicts must submit a signed form.
The chair directed members to return completed forms and said administrators would collect and post them. No formal action was taken during the work meeting; the matter was presented for information and compliance ahead of regular meeting procedures.
