The North Ogden City Budget Subcommittee voted to send a comprehensive set of recommendations to the City Council for a June 2 meeting and asked that the council treat the item as a discussion, not merely a presentation. The committee chair said the intent is to have a back-and-forth exchange where council members and subcommittee members can discuss each recommendation.
Brenda (discussion lead) suggested the agenda title read "Discussion of subcommittee recommendations on the proposed interim budget," a phrasing members accepted. Committee members asked staff to publish the interim (proposed) budget and the packet to the public on the usual schedule so the council and residents could review materials in advance. The subcommittee agreed to circulate edits by Tuesday evening and finalize the packet for staff the following day.
The committee also confirmed logistics for June 2: seating arranged to alternate council members and subcommittee members to encourage dialogue, a limited time allowance per item to avoid an all-night meeting, and that the mayor would open the item and turn the discussion leadership to Brenda. The chair said the subcommittee's practice of sending all ideas (not only those with internal majority support) was intended to ensure council hears a full range of options. The packet will be sent to staff for distribution to council and posted online per the normal notice timeline.
