RDA board forwards $2M budget recommendation; council approves RDA budget 4–1

The North Ogden Redevelopment Agency (RDA) portion of the meeting addressed spending down redevelopment funds that remain as the RDA approaches dissolution. Finance Director Peter Brown explained the RDA has projects in various stages and requested budgetary authority of up to $2,000,000 so the city could continue to administer and complete those projects through the close-out period.
Council members discussed how much of that $2,000,000 was already committed or likely to be spent by month-end; Brown said the amount available to spend by the end of the month would likely fall between $1 million and $2 million depending on receipts. After discussion about audit timing and project timing, the RDA board voted to forward ordinance 2026-17 to council and the city council adopted the RDA budget ordinance by roll-call vote 4–1 (Councilman Neighbor cast the lone no). Council clarified that approving the RDA budget as proposed does not create blank-authority to spend funds without required contractual approvals or separate council action on specific agreements.
