The board reviewed and approved adoption of the Davis Art curriculum. The presenter described the Davis materials as the most highly recommended option in Washington State, aligned to state and national arts standards and offering print and digital resources for grades 6–12.
"It's a comprehensive curriculum... it fully aligns with Washington State arts learning standards and national core art standards," the presenter said while outlining the sequence and cultural diversity in the materials. The six-year adoption cost was cited at $6,377.62, and the presenter noted an optional one-year K–5 digital trial for approximately $400.
A board member moved to adopt the art curriculum for grades 6–12; later the board moved and recorded a voice vote to adopt the full K–12 package. The transcript records affirmative 'Aye' responses for both motions. Staff were directed to implement the adopted materials with teachers and to report back on initial rollout.
