Staff updated the Planning Commission on several city items: the arts committee recommended launching a mural program to highlight local artists, beginning with work based on pieces by the late David Montanaro to be painted by his daughter, and planning to add plaques with QR codes to provide artist background. “The committee wants to do 2 murals. So if we get a grant, we know that we'll be able to do 2 murals,” Sherry said.
Staff also described the tree-planting program: 23 trees had been ordered, residents can purchase trees at half price with installation provided by the city-contracted vendor, the application deadline was April 30 and planting was expected the week of May 12. The commission approved the April 8 meeting minutes on a motion from Commissioner Jorgensen and a second from Commissioner Marsh and adjourned.
