Bianca Quirk named principal of Paul Revere School; committee, community applaud

The Revere School Committee on July 21 introduced Bianca Quirk as the new principal of the Paul Revere School, and the committee offered unanimous congratulations.

Superintendent (S2) opened the superintendent's report by saying, "Bianca Quirk, who is the new principal of the Paul Revere School," and described Quirk as a longtime district asset who began in the system as a student. Quirk, who told the committee she graduated Revere High School in 1994, said, "I am a product of Revere. I graduated the class of '94," and described serving the community as "truly a privilege." Committee members and parents who spoke praised her years as assistant principal and former teacher.

Members asked a few brief questions and encouraged community support. Miss Milbury Ellis, who said she had known Quirk since high school, called her "the cornerstone of the Paul Revere School." Superintendent S2 noted the staff was "perfectly thrilled" with Quirk's promotion and said she will mentor the new principal and the committee looks forward to her leadership.

The committee made no formal personnel vote on the night beyond the public introduction; Superintendent S2 also reminded the committee that a fuller personnel and transition plan will be followed as customary for new principals. The committee will return with related personnel or operational details as needed at upcoming meetings.
