New district shop near completion of foundations; utilities tested
Summary
Construction update: water and sewer mains to the new shop are in and the water main was tested; footings and foundation work is done and backfill will allow interior work to begin, potentially placing a floor after the Christmas break if testing/backfill proceed.

Robert Gilbert (CTO/director) gave the monthly shop construction update: utilities are installed, water‑main testing is complete and footings and foundations were poured; if the water main test is passed, backfill will proceed and internal work can begin. “As long as that passes, that will all get backfilled, and then they can start backfilling all of the footings and foundations that went in,” Gilbert said.
Teams have completed concrete footings and foundation work in recent days; site activity remained productive despite intermittent weather, and the contractor has been able to maintain schedule except for one weather-related pause. Board members asked about a specific door modification to permit easier movement of wrestling mats to the Century Center; Gilbert said glass subcontractor Fairway Glass is handling door and glass work and he expects further updates after coordinating with the contractor.
No formal vote was required; construction logistics (parking, bus routing and temporary pick-up points) were discussed further during the business-administrator report.
