The Kensington Energy Committee on July 21 reviewed an update on the town’s Community Power program and was told that new rates are due in August. Members said the Community Power Coalition of New Hampshire (CPCNH) is completing a financial recovery that will permit more competitive rates; the committee reported the new rates are anticipated to be very near Unitil’s.
Committee members approved the minutes from the June 9, 2026 meeting before taking up the Community Power update. The committee did not set a formal vote tied to the rate announcement; members noted they will monitor the published August rates and discuss implications for local customers at a future meeting.
