Dyer fire chief reports 211 calls, training and inspections for June; department applied for radios grant

Fire Chief Joe Martin delivered the department's June report, saying the fire service recorded 211 total calls for service, logged 493 hours of training and completed 81 fire and life-safety inspections. "For the month of June, we had 211 total calls for service, logged 493 hours of training, had 81 fire and life safety inspections," Martin said.
Martin also announced that Mason Crawford and Dominic Bonk completed their probationary periods and that the department responded to the Maryville EF-2 tornado as part of an urban search-and-rescue task force. He said the department, together with Sherrill Fire Department, applied for Assistance to Firefighters grants "for a little over $1,000,000 for the purchase of new radios." The board accepted the chief's report into the record.
