Board hears update on large subdivision and tentative bargaining agreements

A staff member reported that the I-82 subdivision project appears to be advancing rapidly and that the developer indicated plans to bid on the full project and possibly finance infrastructure. The staff member told the board the developer indicated it would donate six acres to the district if it acquires the project: "DH Horton will be donating 6 acres to the school district if they succeed in following in picking up the the rights to the whole project," the staff member said. The name appears in the transcript variably as "DH Wharton" and "DH Horton." The district will seek clarification and any formal agreements would require board approval.
The same staff member said the district has completed tentative agreements with the KBEA (teachers' association) and KBSA (secretaries' association) and will place the draft documents on the Aug. 26 agenda for approval. The staff member said the regional PSE representative, Kendall Milbauer, has resigned and moved to Uniserve, which could affect negotiations timetables.
