Middle school Principal Mister Davidson told the Kiona-Benton board the middle school is fully staffed and preparing to introduce a career and technical education (CTE) program this year. "What's really cool, we've got a brand new program, brand new, implementing this year's CTE, career and technical education," Davidson said, adding that Paxton Patterson lab kits are on order and will arrive before school starts or have contingency plans for day one.
Davidson also said the district's teacher in-service days begin Aug. 20 and include TPEP training, student-growth goal planning and updates on special-education and discipline law. He encouraged families to attend orientation and "meet the teacher" events; the middle school orientation and elementary meet-the-teacher night were scheduled for Aug. 20, 5:30–7 p.m. Davidson said the goals for the year include focused work on mission, vision, culture and subgroup learning improvements.
