Selectboard appoints Tim Parker to fill vacancy until next town meeting

The Selectboard voted to appoint Tim Parker to fill the remainder of a vacant seat until the next town meeting day.

Chair opened discussion of the vacancy and invited candidates to speak; Devin Brennan introduced himself, saying, “For the record, I'm Devin Brennan. I submitted a cover letter and my resume,” and summarized his qualifications. After discussion about local experience and ties, a motion was made and seconded to appoint Tim Parker. The Chair called the vote: “All those in favor of appointing Tim Parker… say aye.” The motion carried and board staff were instructed to arrange swearing-in and required paperwork with the town clerk.

The appointment is temporary; the transcript and board discussion make clear that voters will decide the permanent seat at the next town meeting. Staff indicated Tim would meet with the town clerk to be sworn in before attending subsequent meetings.
