The Reinbeck City Council on Feb. 2 adopted actions to remove property from the city's Urban Renewal Area and repealed a prior ordinance governing tax division for the district.
Council approved Resolution #2026-04R to delete property from the Reinbeck Urban Renewal Area and introduced Ordinance #2026-01OR to delete property from the TIF district pursuant to Section 403.19 of the Code of Iowa. The council then voted to suspend the statutory rule requiring two readings and adopted Ordinance #2026-01OR on the same night by roll call (Wambold, Pease, Johnson, Trepp, Bueghly — all aye). The council followed the same procedure to introduce and adopt Ordinance #2026-02OR, repealing Ordinance No. 99-10-02; that vote was also 5-0.
The council recorded no amendments or conditions to the ordinances in the minutes. The measures were approved by unanimous roll call votes, and the minutes note the statutory suspension and final adoption as the actions taken. The adoption changes the legal status of the referenced property in the city's TIF/Urban Renewal framework and directs city staff to reflect the deletions in city records.
