Summary
At the start of the meeting, Lester Potter and Curtis Goffin repeated oaths of office for their respective roles; the council then proceeded to regular business and the mayor delivered his first report.
The meeting opened with the formal swearing-in of elected officials. "I, Lester Potter. Do solemnly swear ... and faithfully discharge the duties of mayor," Potter recited, followed by "So help me God." Curtis Goffin likewise repeated the oath for his council seat, saying "I, Curtis Goffin. Do solemnly swear ... and faithfully discharge the duties of the council member."
The ceremony concluded within a few minutes and the council moved to procedural items, including roll call and the Pledge of Allegiance before the mayor's report.
