Henderson County approves CivicPlus accessibility contract at $21,523 annual cost

Network Administrator Brent Jacobs told Fiscal Court that the U.S. Department of Justice had issued an accessibility requirement for government websites originally scheduled for April 2027 but since delayed; Henderson County has already taken steps and proposed contracting with CivicPlus to meet the standard.
Jacobs said the service carries an annual cost of $18,023 and a one-time implementation fee of $3,500, for a total first-year cost of $21,523. He said the expense is budgeted. Magistrate Southard moved to approve the agreement; Magistrate Berry seconded and the motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
County officials described the contract as part of ongoing website-improvement work to serve residents with disabilities and to limit future compliance risk. The court recorded the approval and noted the contract was within the adopted budget for technology services.
