Mike outlined common failure modes — plastic saddle fittings and service-line issues — and urged the city to stock specialized clamps, valves and spare parts. "Some of these pinch-off tools are just a couple $100; really super nice ones with hydraulics are more expensive," Mike said, and proposed training and a coordinated response to reduce environmental discharges and repair time. Council agreed to document the SOP, pursue a training session and consider an indemnity letter to support tracing and locating services.
