Council authorizes up to $5,000 for AV upgrade after camera failure

The council approved up to $5,000 to replace a failed streaming camera, add a second camera and purchase a controller and a television-sized monitor so agendas and presentations can be displayed for in-person attendees.
Moderator (S1) described the camera failure and said the goal was to restore reliable livestreaming and presentation capability. "As you all know, our camera decided to die on us," Moderator (S1) said, explaining the request had been accelerated because of the equipment failure.
Councilmember (S4) moved to give Mayor Potter a budget up to $5,000 to complete the replacement and installation; council seconded the motion and voted in favor. Members also discussed training and backup support so that council staff can operate the new system going forward.
