The Marion City Council voted unanimously on June 2 to approve Amendment No. 2 to the City's agreement with WithersRavenel for professional engineering services on the gravity sewer project. Public Works Director Brant Sikes said the amendment adds easement acquisition assistance to the firm's scope, including preparing easement plats, property and deed information for delivery to the City Attorney for final execution and closing.
Sikes told the Council that the need for permanent and temporary construction easements had emerged during design and that WithersRavenel’s additional services are reimbursable under the legislative appropriation established by Session Law 2023-134. The Council approved the motion to accept the amendment with no recorded opposition.
