District and contractor celebrate near-completion of referendum-funded STEAM and fitness projects

District staff and contractor CG Schmidt reviewed the final-phase presentation for the referendum-funded projects, showing renderings and completed photography of the Innovation Hub, 3D art area, fitness addition, and associated renovations. Mike Dietrich of CG Schmidt introduced himself and his project manager and thanked district staff: “My name is Mike Dietrich. I'm a project executive with CG Schmidt,” he said while noting the collaboration with Epstein Ewan on design.
Contractors emphasized aspects intended to increase visibility and collaborative learning, including storefront glass, overhead doors between project-based classrooms and large ceilings in the fitness/studio area to accommodate cheer and robotics practice. District administration said roughly 75% of the referendum work is represented in the CG Schmidt scope and that, barring a small remaining schedule item (oxygen bleachers expected in September), most renovations will be complete by the end of summer. Administrators added anticipated savings could be transferred to the debt-service fund to reduce future tax levies.
