The Hilton Head Island Town Council on April 28 voted unanimously to authorize an easement that formalizes an existing informal access agreement for Cordillo/Cordillera Courts and the Hedges across town-owned property at 104 Cordilla Parkway.
Town staff presented the item as a cleanup of title and access. "The town acquired property back in 2002," staff member Cohen said, and the easement would "clean[] up that, and makes and provides legal documentation providing access to both of those communities." Cohen told council that if supported that night, the ordinance would return for a second reading on May 20.
Council members did not ask substantive questions and approved the motion by voice/hand-raise, recorded as 7–0. The council’s vote advances the matter to the next step of the ordinance process; the second reading will be the next scheduled opportunity for final adoption or further amendment.
