The Blue River Valley board approved a memorandum of understanding with IU East that will allow the university to provide certain dual-credit courses to up to five district students when a local course is not available. Administrators said the MOU is intended to fill gaps for students pursuing an ICC/dual-credit pathway and will be used selectively for qualifying students.
An administrator explained the arrangement: "If there's one class that they need, it's an MOU to basically say they will do it for a cheaper rate for us up to 5 kids that would qualify," noting that textbook costs remain the responsibility of families as state rules require. The board also approved a dual-credit teacher contract for Mr. Willis — who will teach dual-credit psychology and a semester of dual-credit speech — and thanked him for stepping into the role. Both actions were approved by voice votes (motions carry 3–0).
