Board approves architect agreement for Evans and Mackenzie middle schools from voter‑approved bond

Dr. Anderson presented an AIA owner–architect agreement recommended for approval between Lubbock ISD and MWM Architecture to design additions and renovations at Evans Middle School and interior and site improvements at Mackenzie Middle School, funded by the May 2025 bond.
He told the board the projects represent $11,465,000 for Evans and $6,600,000 for Mackenzie as passed by voters in the May 2025 bond election and that approval would allow staff to proceed with design planning unless a major change in scope or budget occurs. "Approval will allow us to proceed with all design planning, and no further action is needed unless a major change in scope or budget occurs," Dr. Anderson said.
After brief discussion the board voted to approve the agreement and authorized the superintendent to finalize and execute the agreement on the district's behalf (motion passed 4–0).
