Superintendent Daniel provided a detailed update on summer facilities work and safety improvements. He reported access-control work is nearing completion but delayed by wiring and asbestos abatement; LED-light replacement is about 95% complete at some campuses; duct cleaning, painting and HVAC work continue; and a walk-in freezer installation is scheduled for Aug. 3. He also said plans for Brooks rooftop HVAC and propane conversions are in design and that some projects (for example, Woodhall hallway bathroom renovation) may be delayed.
On safety, Daniel said the district completed a safety-checklist walk with new school resource officers and emergency-management representatives. He announced Deputy Gilbert will be assigned to the high school, and Deputy Mikaela Musick will be assigned to the elementary school, and said training and access-control procedures for staff will follow as systems come online.
