The Matthews County School Board opened its July 21 meeting by confirming a July closed session. A board member moved to adopt the certificate of the closed session; another board member seconded the motion and the board recorded a roll-call vote with all members voting in favor.
The board then approved personnel actions listed on the agenda. Miss Bohannon Stewart moved to approve the personnel action “as listed,” the motion was seconded and passed without opposition. The board also approved a parental request for release from compulsory attendance for religious reasons after a brief motion and second, again passing the item by voice vote.
