Council approves reduced Greenspace hours to cut staff hours starting June 1

Parks & Recreation Director Levi Meyer reported that only about 4% of weekly traffic arrives before 8 AM on weekdays and that members and day-pass use are relatively balanced across days. He proposed weekday hours of 8 AM to 8 PM, Saturday hours of 8 AM to 5 PM and Sunday hours of 10 AM to 5 PM, which staff estimate would eliminate roughly 16 staff hours per week. Residents make up approximately 52% of pass sales, 74% of monthly memberships and 93% of annual memberships. Councilmember Ron Conus moved to approve the recommendation; Councilmember Josh Lewis seconded the motion, and it passed 5-0. The changes, if implemented, would go into effect June 1, 2026.
