Residents urge council scrutiny of data center approvals; special hearing set for DAMAC appeal

Mayor Donald Roberts responded by scheduling a special council meeting for July 16 at 7:00 PM to hear DAMAC’s filed appeal of its final site plan; the meeting will allow DAMAC to present its case and for council members to review submitted materials. The council did not take any formal action on policy changes or new regulation of data centers at the June 25 meeting. The scheduling of the hearing is the next procedural step for the DAMAC application and gives residents an opportunity to present further input.
