PIE graduate to present at international early childhood conference

Ashley Lechon described a long advocacy trajectory and said PIE accelerated her readiness to present and mentor others. She credited storytelling training in the cohort with helping her "create an arc in my stories" and said the experience opened opportunities to join SICC committees and content design teams.
Ashley said she will present two sessions at an international conference on early childhood special education and early intervention this fall, focusing on reducing family isolation, building parent confidence and moving from family engagement to authentic partnership and shared decision making. "If it weren't for PIE, I may not have even submitted those proposals in the first place," she said.
