The Washington State Women's Commission voted to approve its 2026—27 strategic plan after a presentation from an Office of Financial Management consultant. Chair Allison moved to approve the plan and it passed by voice vote.
The plan lays out three priorities: increase strategic engagement, strengthen advocacy for equitable and inclusive programs and diversify commissioner and committee engagement. OFM consultant Juan described concrete success measures including a target of 50 recipient partners, a 10% rise in social-media reach and quarter-by-quarter "sprints" to track progress. "Success measures really should be, as much as possible, time bound, specific and measurable," Juan said during the presentation.
Commissioners said the document will be treated as a living plan, with staff tasked to return with tactical steps and metrics. Commissioner Malia seconded the motion to approve, and the commission emphasized they would revisit the plan as implementation proceeds and resources become clearer. Staff said they would circulate follow-up materials and set periodic check-ins to evaluate progress.
